Supported Independent Living (SIL) is the area of the NDIS with the highest committed funds and possibly the highest amount of provider pain. This workshop will move beyond the policy to discuss how SIL Is actually working (or not working) in practice, using a worked example to outline the process of assessing support intensity and preparing a SIL quote. With a focus on some of the challenges, and solutions, that you may face, this workshop will explore:

  • The S, the I and the L of SIL: What SIL is and what it isnt

  • Don't mix up your acronyms, why SDA is not SIL

  • Choice and Control, Reasonable and Necessary and SIL

  • Colourful spreadsheets and money: Assessment of support need and quote process (worked example)

  • Why support documents for SIL will become your best friend

  • Once you exit your front door does SIL stop.... and other SIL conundrums

If you are a SIL support provider and/or providing SDA you cannot afford to miss this workshop.
